4-H Camp Opportunities

Camden County 4-H is pleased to announce that registration for this year’s 4-H summer camp for fifth through twelfth grade students.

The first day of registration will begin on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Camden County Cooperative Extension and 4-H Office in Woodbine. After the special Saturday date, registration will still be available during regular business hours. All camps require an $80 non-refundable deposit payable by cash or check, with the remaining balance due on April 14, 2017. The cost of camp includes lodging, meals, and all activities for the week and transportation for Cloverleaf and Junior camps. This year the 5th and 6th graders, or Cloverleaf 4-H’ers, will go to Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, Ga. on July 10 -14, 2017. The cost of camp is $380. Cloverleaf Campers will participate in a variety of activities including canoeing, healthy lifestyles, archery, water conservation, entomology (bugs), forestry, herpetology (reptiles), lake ecology and wildlife.

This year, Junior campers (7th & 8th graders) will attend Camp Camp Jekyll from July 3 – 7, 2017. These campers will boat tour around Jekyll Island, Jekyll Sea Turtle Center, bicycle rental, Summer Waves Water Park, and special Thursday evening event. Also offered for middle school 4-H’ers this year is Marine Resources Camp. This camp, will take place July 3- 7, 2017 on Tybee Island at the Burton 4-H Center and is available to 6th- 8th grade 4-H’ers. Attendees will Enjoy Tybee Island with a marsh trawl, shark dissection, beach ecology workshops, talent show, beach time, and evening recreation. Senior Camp (9th – 12th graders) will be at Rock Eagle 4-H in Eatonton, Ga. May 30 – June 3, 2017 and will cost $360. Senior camp will offer on and off-site social service activities like a trip to the University of Georgia, Memorial Day picnic and an inflatables/ fun night at Rock Eagle.

The Extension Office is open on Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please DO NOT send the registration form to school or by mail. Only a parent or legal guardian may sign a child up to attend camp.
