The primary function of the Child Support Receiver is to receive and disburse child support payments that are established by judicial order, the terms of which specify that support payments are to be paid through the Child Support Receiver. All payments received by 2:00 p.m. will be processed and checks will be mailed to the Custodial Parent each business day. Payments received after 2:00 p.m. will be processed the following business day.
Payments & Fees
There is a 5% statutory fee charged for each payment processed, not to exceed $2.00. [O.C.G.A. §15-15-5(a)].
All payments must be by cash, money order, cashier’s check, certified check or business check. Personal checks will not be accepted.
Payroll Deductions
You may use the Voluntary Wage Assignment form (PDF) to set up a payroll deduction for your child support payments with your employer.
Enforcement of any provisions of your order must be handled through an attorney or the Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Child Support Services. It is recommended that an application be completed online at www.dcss.dhs.georgia.gov before calling or visiting the local Child Support Enforcement office.
