Mosquito Control

Purpose

The mission of Mosquito Control is to reduce levels of pestiferous and disease capable mosquitoes in an effort to protect human health, improve quality of life, and minimize any associated adverse impacts to the local economy (agriculture, tourism, etc). Camden County is dedicated to providing the County with the most environmentally safe and efficient control of mosquitoes. This includes larval and adult mosquito, surveillance, treatments, disease monitoring, and laboratory testing to:

  • Kingsland,
  • St. Marys,
  • Woodbine, and
  • unincorporated Camden County.

Monitoring and suppression of both larval and adult mosquitoes will be based on an environmentally focused, least-toxic approach, that utilizes a combination of cultural, biological, and chemical controls to target and reduce all mosquitoes, with an emphasis on minimizing chemical adulticide applications.
