Grants Management

Camden County seeks out federal, state, and foundation grant funding to assist in meeting the strategic plan goals set by the Board of Commissioners.

Since 2016, more than $4 million in grants have been awarded to Camden County in addition to equipment. These funds include aid provided to Emergency Management, Fire Rescue, Leisure Services, Public Works, and the Sheriff's Office.

Hazard Mitigation Grant Program

In November 2018, the Camden County Board of Commissioners announced (PDF) that it was recipient of Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding in the amount of $177,067.25 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA).

The purchase of these signs gives the Camden County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) the capability of displaying messages and informing the public about potential dangers. Coupled with other communications methods, including CodeRED and social media, the new warning signs assist in closing gaps in alerting the public about potential hazards.

Since the summer of 2019, six variable message signs have been posted at locations across Camden County providing updates and directions to local residents.
