[ARCHIVED] Several Camden County Employees Receive Advanced Certifications in Their Fields

The Camden County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce the recent achievement of certifications by members of the Fleet Services Department and the Solid Waste Authority. Mechanic Brent Goble received two Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certifications and Landfill Operators Lindberg Carter and William Mancil received certification and recertification as Georgia Landfill Operators.

“We are extremely proud of their accomplishments. These certifications speak volumes about the quality and dedication of Camden County employees in continuing their pursuit of professional development,” said County Administrator Steve Howard. “Employees are Camden County’s greatest asset.”

Brent Goble achieved F1 certification covering the maintenance, inspection, and testing of fire apparatus as well as the E-0 certification covering the maintenance, inspection, and testing of ambulances. Both of these certifications are through the EVT Certification Commission, Inc., a nonprofit corporation dedicated to improving the quality of emergency vehicle service and repair throughout the United States by means of a certification program that will provide technicians recognition for the education, training, and experience they have in the service and repair of emergency vehicles. Mr. Goble has worked for Camden County since December 2020.

Lindberg Carter received certification and William Mancil received recertification as Georgia Certified Landfill Operators. The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education, the Georgia Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), and the Department of Natural Resources/Environmental Protection Division (DNR/EPD) developed a 30-hour training program leading to certification for landfill operators in the State of Georgia. The State of Georgia Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act requires that all solid waste landfills in the state be staffed at all times by trained and certified landfill operators. Mr. Carter began working for Camden County in March 2017 and Mr. Mancil began working in April 2019.
