Camden County Introduces 2021 Summer Interns

The Camden County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to introduce four student interns who will be working for Camden County this summer. Dennis Irvin, Fabian Mann, Kelley Pattee, and Ian Watsky will spend their internships working on specific projects in Administration, Elections & Registration, and Public Works.

“We are excited for these interns to get started,” said County Administrator Steve Howard. “We have had great success with this program in the past and look forward to the great work they will perform for Camden County citizens.”

All four interns are participating in the Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP). Earlier this year, and in 2020, Camden County received grant funding from the ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation to assist with the costs of the internships. Two positions were deferred from last summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 18 interns have gained experience with Camden County through this program, including two participants that were later hired as a result of their internships.

Dennis Irvin, a junior from the College of Coastal Georgia, will work with Elections & Registration. Fabian Mann, a senior from the College of Coastal Georgia, will work with Administration. Kelley Pattee, a junior from the College of Coastal Georgia, will work with Public Works. Ian Watsky, a junior from Kennesaw State University will work with Administration.

The GCIP offers internship experiences to undergraduate and graduate level college students in county government offices throughout the state. Since its creation in 2010, over 425 students have filled internship positions in 75 counties throughout the state through this program.
