[ARCHIVED] Bill Carreira Appointed to Technical Review Committee

At their recent meeting, the Region 10 (Georgia) Regional Planning Committee selected Camden County Radio System Administrator, William (Bill) Carreira to serve on the Technical Review Committee.

The Planning Commission, under the Georgia Technology Authority, is responsible for coordinating all public safety radio system frequencies use for the state of Georgia as delegated by the Federal Communication Commission (FCC). The commission’s ongoing mission is to advocate for local planning in the 700 and 800-megahertz spectrum. This effort ensures any potential conflict between public safety radio system users within cities, counties, state, and inter-state is coordinated, and deconflicted to ensure critical public safety radio communications are achieved and sustained.

“It is important that Camden County be properly represented at the state level, and to have Bill Carreira be selected to serve on the Regional Planning Commission is further testament to his professionalism, and to Camden County’s commitment to life-cycle management of our public safety radio system,” stated Chuck White, Director of Emergency Management.

The Camden County Public Safety Radio System (CCPSRS) spans 628 square miles, has 4 radio towers and includes more than 300 radios. CCPSRS provides a stable, secure framework for interoperable communications among local area first responders.
