[ARCHIVED] New Tanker 18 Added to Camden County Fire Rescue Fleet

Camden County Fire Rescue is pleased to announce the arrival of a new 3,000-gallon Tanker. Once completely equipped and stocked this new apparatus will become Tanker 18, serving the Tarboro area of northwestern Camden County.

“We thank the Board of Commissioners for their continued support of Camden County Fire Rescue,” said Camden County Fire Rescue Chief Terry Smith. “This new tanker is an asset to our department as we seek to better serve Camden County through updates to our frontline response vehicles.”

Purchased through the unincorporated fund, the new Tanker 18 cost $259,133. This apparatus is part of the nearly $3.7 million in new buildings, equipment, and apparatus in the last five (5) years. Since 2017, Camden County Fire Rescue has built one (1) new firehouse and purchased two (2) new tankers, three (3) new engines, four (4) ambulances, and nearly $500,000 in equipment and tools.

Camden County Fire Rescue has ordered two ambulances and one fire engine, but is currently awaiting delivery.
