Camden County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is joining with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) to encourage local residents to take time to prepare for possible inclement weather emergencies this winter and participate in Winter Weather Preparedness Week, December 4-8, 2023.
“Camden County residents do not typically experience severe winter weather locally, but we want to encourage all citizens to plan and prepare for the possibility,” said Emergency Management Director Chuck White. “We want these tools to enable our citizens to protect themselves and their families if they are ever facing severe winter weather.”
Throughout the week, Camden County EMA and GEMA will share information to raise awareness of winter weather hazards and reinforce understanding of winter weather terminology to help residents prepare for winter weather. Each day concentrates on a different aspect of winter weather, including:
- Winter Weather in Georgia,
- Winter Weather Terminology,
- Winter Weather Preparation Tips,
- Winter Weather Driving Tips, and
- Winter Weather Outlook for 2023-24 season.
Specific information and tips will be posted throughout the month on the Camden County EMA’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. Camden County residents looking for more information on how to prepare, plan, and stay informed about possible winter weather situations can visit camdencountyga.gov/ema or gema.georgia.gov/winter.
