The $2,983.64 grant will aid the department’s fire safety and burn prevention efforts by purchasing a Sparky the Fire Dog costume and smoke alarms.
“We are thrilled to be able to add Sparky the Fire Dog to our team,” said Camden County Fire Chief Mark Crews. “This is a great opportunity for us to connect with Camden County children and teach them more about fire safety."
In addition to the Sparky the Fire Dog costume, this grant will also allow CCFR to purchase another 192 smoke detectors to keep in inventory for their program that provides smoke alarms to county citizens that would otherwise be unable to afford them. Camden County residents that need smoke alarms may contact Fire Rescue Headquarters at 912-729-3911 for more information.
