[ARCHIVED] Camden County Fire Rescue Place New Cardiac Monitors into Service

These state-of-the-art cardiac monitors/defibrillators replace older model units and allow Camden County Fire Rescue to continue performing advanced life support activities.

“We are grateful for the complete support from the Board of Commissioners to upgrade the cardiac monitors,” said Camden County Fire Rescue Assistant Chief and EMS Director Charles Lowther. “These new monitors allow us to provide an improved quality of care to Camden County citizens and visitors.”

Paramedics receive more details about the patient from the new monitors, allowing Fire Rescue personnel to make better informed decisions. Additionally, data from the 12-Lead electrocardiogram (ECG) can be sent directly to physicians at hospitals, providing timely care.

The new cardiac monitors are part of Camden County Fire Rescue’s broader modernization efforts that include hydraulic stretcher lift systems and eighteen (18) engines and apparatuses. Since 2013, the Board of Commissioners invested over $3.1 million in upgraded equipment.
