[ARCHIVED] Camden County Residents Encouraged to Monitor the Track of Hurricane Michael

Camden County Board of Commissioners, Camden County Sheriff’s Office, and Camden County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) officials are partnering with the cities of Kingsland, St. Marys, and Woodbine, along with Camden County Schools, Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay Emergency Management, and the National Weather Service (NWS) to determine potential impacts of Hurricane Michael on our community.

At this time the forecast track does indicate the potential for Tropical Storm force winds impacting our area as early as Wednesday of this week. All residents should remain aware of this threat, and understand that forecast track and storm intensity could change.

All Camden County residents are urged to sign-up for the CodeRED Emergency Notification System on the Camden County website, www.camdencountyga.gov. This is a high speed Communication Service available for mass Emergency Notifications. CodeRED is critical during situations like this as a direct method of communication from Camden County EMA to your landline, cell phone, or email. TDD/TTY service is also available. Participants will be notified in the event of emergency situations or critical community alerts.

All local residents should monitor Camden County Website, Camden County EMA Facebook and Camden County EMA Twitter for updates.
